Richard John Winter

| May 6, 2021 1:00 AM

Richard John Winter went home to heaven on May 1, 2021. He left this earth surrounded by family.

Richard was born Sept. 15, 1945, in St Maries, Idaho. His parents, Eugene and Anna Winter, had a fairly large and growing family. Richard had four older siblings: Myrna, Mike, Fred and Bill. All preceded him in death. He is survived by his two younger brothers, Joe Winter of Coeur d’Alene and Charles Winter of St Maries.

Richard grew up in Calder, Idaho, where he was an avid fisherman and hunter. In November of 1965 he married the love of his life, Audrey K. Hoffman Winter, who never left his side for 56 years. They had two children together, Nancy Cornell of Rathdrum and son-in-law, Mark Cornell, and John Winter of Post Falls and his wife, Amy Winter.

Richard had 12 grandchildren whom he doted over: Andrew (and wife Amber), Amber (and husband Nathanael), Josh, Shinnah, Kaytlynn, Hunter, Tristan, Lacey, Gavin, Brooklyn, Chace and Payton, along with seven great-grandchildren and so many nieces and nephews that were so special to him.

He will be missed and forever in our hearts.

Richard’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave. Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
