E. DelMar 'Del' Jaquish

Del was born in Fresno, Calif., to Opal and Cecil Jaquish. He grew up in the Fresno and Sanger, Calif., areas, graduating from Sanger High School in 1947. He attended Reedley College, in Reedley, Calif., and then obtained his degree in forestry from the University of Idaho in 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.

After retiring from a successful 33-year career with the United States Forest Service, Del and his wife, Beverly, moved to the Post Falls, Idaho, area in 1985. He continued to share his love of meeting new people and his expertise of forestry by working as a bus driver, as the City Forester for Post Falls, and then with the Community Forestry Program of the Idaho Department of Lands. Del enjoyed spending time with family and friends, lay-speaking with his church community, photography, woodworking, fishing and singing.

Del is survived by four daughters, a son, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores, in 1971 and his second wife, Beverly, in 2019.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on May 8, 2021, at House of Faith Wesleyan Church, 1103 N. Third St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Masks will be required. The family requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to House of Faith Church or to the city of Post Falls, designated to the Tree Trust Fund.
