On the hunt for candy-filled eggs

Check out these free Easter events for a hip-hoppity good time.

Wednesday, March 31 through Sunday, April 4

Seek to find all the hidden Easter items in the Post Falls Parks & Recreations Department's "Hop & Seek Easter Adventure." Clue sheets for the items' locations will be available online at www.postfallsidaho.org/recreation on the evening of March 30. Easter items will be hidden in five Post Falls parks — Black Bay Park, 1210 E. Third Ave.; Falls Park, 305 W. Fourth Ave.; Kiwanis Park, 4176 Weatherby Avenue; Q'emiln Park, 122101 W. Parkway Drive; Tullamore Park, 3673 E. Bogie Drive. The hunt is for children ages 2 through 11, each park will have a clue sheet, and participants can enter each clue sheet into a drawing for a prize. Participants can enter all five drawings but may only win once. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. April 5, and winners will be notified April 6. 

Friday, April 2

Barn 31 presents "Free Community Easter Event" from 1 to 5 p.m. at 1908 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls. where families can pick an egg for a chance to win a new bike or Barn 31 gift card. There will also be a free craft project for kids and pictures with the Easter bunny. 

Saturday, April 3

Bikers Against Teen Addiction & Abuse (BATAA) "4th annual Egg Hunt & BBQ" serving up fun, candy, prizes, and the Easter bunny. The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at Stub Myer Park, 8320 W. Fourth St., Rathdrum. 

Sponsored by the Spirit Event Committee, the "Spirit Lake City Park Egg Hunt" at 32416 Fifth Ave., Spirit Lake will feature two hunts and an Easter bunny photo opportunity. One hunt will be for infants to pre-K children in the little park on Fourth Avenue and Maine Street. Older kids will be at the larger park. The hunt begins at 11 a.m., and there will be 10 loaded baskets available to win.

"Traditional Egg Hunt" for ages 0 through 5th grade at 4 p.m. at The Fields at Real Life Post Falls campus, 1860 N. Cecil Road.

"Flashlight Egg" for ages Kindergarten through 5th Grade at 8 p.m. at The Fields at Real Life Post Falls campus, 1860 N. Cecil Road.

20th Annual Canvas Candy Hunt — with inflatables, hot dogs, balloons, candy, and more starting at Borah Elementary School, 632 E. Borah Ave., Coeur d'Alene. The public is welcome at 10 a.m., and the hunt starts at 11 a.m.

Rathdrum Parks and Recreation is hosting the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. in Majestic Park, 5750 W. Majestic Ave. Features around 15,000 eggs and lots of exciting prizes, the hunt is open for any child 12 years old and younger, and the Easter bunny will be making a special appearance. Sunday, April 4

"Egg Hunt at Real Life North Campus" for ages 0 through 5th grade starting at 10:30 a.m. at Timberlake Senior High School, 5973 W. Highway 54, Spirit Lake.
