Chiefs held scoreless in Tri-City

KENNEWICK — Sam Huo scored twice in the third period for Tri-City, which shut out the Spokane Chiefs 3-0 in front of 400 in Western Hockey League play on Saturday at the Toyota Center.

It was the third time in five games this season that Spokane (0-4-0-1, 0 points) has been shut out, and second straight after losing 5-0 at home to Seattle on Friday.

After a scoreless first period, Tri-City scored midway through the second to take a 1-0 lead after the period.

Spokane finished 0 for 6 on the power-play and are now 1 for 16 on the season.

Spokane returns to Kennewick to face Tri-City again next Saturday at 6 p.m.
