OPINIONS: Speak up, people

| March 26, 2021 1:00 AM

Recently, a Press reader decided to take issue with my letter which purported that Joe Biden had created a mass of illegal immigration at our southern border. Instead of responding to my letter through The Press, this person found my home address and sent me a personal letter, choosing to remain anonymous, with no return address or signature.

Well, as we have seen lately, we do indeed have a crisis at our border, with thousands coming, many raped, beaten, and possibly murdered or sold into bondage. Joe Biden’s and the democrats’ immigration policies are disgusting, creating unimaginable pain and suffering in the name of compassion.

On a positive note, Ron Deady’s letter about education was spot on, as usual. And I agree with Brent Regan about the Teachers’ Union having too much sway in our education system.

Chris Shelton’s (no relation) letter on March 20 concerning racism in North Idaho hit the nail on the head! I see little racism and know of few dumbbells in our area, though law enforcement has a handle on their location and identities. The Human Rights Education Institute does more, in my opinion, to create animosity and divisiveness than it does to promote harmony, supposedly seeing problems that do not exist at all.

The March 21 Guest Opinion by Jim Jones and Ben Ysursa was excellent as well. These two great Idahoans, as past public servants, know the Constitution of our great state. Thanks for your continued service to us all.
