Notable calls for the day!

03-19-2021

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Seltice X Innovation for no plates. A K-9 Deputy and his partner arrived. K9 Bailey alerted on an exterior sniff of the vehicle. When the male occupant exited the vehicle a meth pipe was observed under him. The driver was detained as well. Meth and para was located inside the vehicle. Both were arrested 21-11690

• Back County Deputies responded back up the FSR 1562 for a stranded ATVer. Yesterday's victim returned back up there today with another ATV and wife to recover the one that got stuck. They became stuck again and called 911 because they got tired and cold.

• While waiting to serve a search warrant, Deputies observed a wanted subject that had earlier been contacted by SIU Detectives. After observing the Deputies, the male attempted to flee the area at a high rate of speed. He was stopped and contacted at Sherman X 22nd St. He was arrested on his 3 warrants.

• Deputies responded to E. Emerson Dr. in Bayview for a drugs call. RP (Wife) called to report that her residence smelled like marijuana. After "sniffing" around the house, she found her slightly intoxicated husband smoking marijuana in the bathroom. When Deputies arrived and he gave the drugs and para to them. He was Cited and released.

• Deputies responded to a 2 vehicle injury accident in the intersection of Cornerstone X Prairie. One of the driver's complained of neck pain. Report taken.

• A Deputy responded to a report of a possibly suicidal person. A male was recently fired and made suicidal comments. He fled from the residence on a bike. Several pings could not give a precise location. The male called the suicide hotline, stating he needed help and possibly hurt himself. More pings were attempted. Deputies ultimately found the male in the area of Farragut Park. He wanted help and requested to go to the crisis center.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a welfare check on an elderly female. She was showing signs of paranoia and was ultimately placed on a PC hold. 21-11742

• A Deputy handled property damage crash at Miles Ave. and Maple St. 21-11745

Night Shift handled the following notable call:

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 41 X Mullan Ave. He made contact with the driver, and passenger. It was discovered driver’s driving status out of Montana was revoked and he is the respondent of a protection order out of Montana with passenger being the protected party. He was arrested for violation of a protection order and possession of paraphernalia. 21-11778

• Deputies responded to a report of a cold physical domestic between a male and female. The investigation revealed there was no physical domestic. They had an argument because female is pregnant and is abusing oxys. An FI was completed. 21-11781

• Deputies responded to the area of Old Highway 95 and Abbott Rd. for a reported physical domestic. A female R/P called and advised her boyfriend was highly intoxicated and got upset at her. At some point, he put the car in neutral and tried to open the door to get out while on the roadway. She pulled over and stopped. He got out of the vehicle and went to the driver’s side where he tried to pull her out of the vehicle and attempted to strangle her. When she dialed 911 the male broke contact and was last seen walking S/B on Old Highway 95. This incident occurred with their 8 month old child in the vehicle. Deputies searched the area for male but were unable to locate him. A complaint request was completed for attempted strangulation and domestic battery in the presence of a child. 21-11788

• Deputies responded to the area of Ohio Match Rd. and Tree Farm Ln. for a suspicious vehicle parked in the middle of the road with a male behind the wheel. Contact was made with the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST’s and was arrested for 2nd offense DUI. A DRE evaluation was completed on him by A Deputy who concluded driver was under the influence of drugs. 21-11807

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Seltice Way and Compton St. He contacted the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFSTs and provided breath samples of .159/.155. He was arrested for DUI. 21-11813

• Deputies responded to the Holiday gas station off Prairie Ave. for a reported female asleep behind the wheel. Contact was made with the female and paraphernalia was observed in plain view. A search revealed approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine and numerous syringes. She was arrested for PCS meth and possession of paraphernalia. 21-11826

• CIU Deputies patrolled the Stateline area and made numerous stops and contacts. ISP was also working the area. For the second week in a row, no fights were reported, which is likely due to the large law enforcement presence in the area.

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to a single vehicle deer v car collision on the 6800 block of CDA Lake Dr. where a driver struck a deer. Deer was dispatched at the scene and collision report completed.

• Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the City of Worley on a female driver. The Deputy observed her speeding at 75mph in a 50mph zone. During the stop, it was learned that the driver had not had a valid license in 7 years. Deputies also observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight. CDATPD responded to assist due to the female being a tribal member. During the investigation, CDATPD cited and released the female for para. A male came to the scene at the start of the stop and demanded the vehicle be released to him. When told no, he stated he "Would come back". A short time later, he returned to the scene with 3-4 others, demanding the vehicle. The situation started to deteriorate, but the vehicle was towed by CDATPD.

• A Deputy stopped a male in the area of HWY 95 X Rockford for traffic violations. After a K-9 Deputy and his partner arrived, the exterior of the vehicle was searched. During the search, 3.1 gm of meth was located, as well as 1 pre-loaded syringe. With the meth, several pieces of high end jewelry were found. The female was arrested for PWI and his vehicle was seized.

• Deputies responded to Caravelle Rd. for a report of a runaway 10YO foster child. During the investigation, it was learned that the child was in the care of a facility in Sandpoint via Caldwell H&W. They were having severe problems with him and housed him temporarily at a foster home in our county. The foster parent refused to take him back due to the issues. Kinderhaven in Sandpoint was advised that they would have to come get the child and arrange his care via their arrangement.

• A Deputy responded to Honeysuckle Beach for a report of a possible DUI. A female was contacted and just about despondent. She had consumed some alcohol, however, she was willing to go to the hospital on a voluntary hold. The vehicle was released to family.

• Deputies responded to a flock of sheep blocking Meyer Rd. in the area of Wyoming.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy took a vehicle theft report from the Casino. An R/P called to advise an unknown person had stolen his black 2014 Kia Sorento while he was visiting the casino. The investigation revealed a male had borrowed his friend's vehicle and drove to the casino. The male then took a key fob that belonged to the R/P after it was inadvertently left unattended. The male then got into his friend's vehicle and drove the parking lot until he found the vehicle that belonged with the fob. He got into the Kia and left. Spokane PD was contacted regarding male suspect’s friend to investigate the possible stolen vehicle from their jurisdiction. 21-11896

• Multiple Deputies responded to N. Ramsey Rd. after an anonymous person called in to report an underage party with drugs and alcohol. Once Deputies arrived, they were met with uncooperative subjects. One subject was observed placing a bong outside from window. Ultimately several people were detained. Several members of the group decided to broadcast the situation via "Facebook Live". Ultimately the bong was seized and no charges were filed at this time, however, SIU was notified. 21-11901

• A Deputy handled a property damage accident in the 5800 block of W. Clemetson Rd. The R/P called to advise she had struck a horse in the road and the horse was now deceased. The R/P was not injured. 21-11908

• A Deputy handled a theft call from the westbound Huetter rest stop. An R/P called to advise he is transient and lives in his vehicle at the rest stop. He had a Malamute puppy that a male and female, who are also living in their vehicle at the rest stop, agreed to watch for him while he was at work. When the R/P was at work today, he received a text from the male asking if it was OK if they took the dog to Spokane. The R/P returned to the rest area and the male and female were gone. They will not return his text messages or phone calls. 21-11911

Night Shift handled the following notable call:

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Honeysuckle Ave. and Commerce Dr. The driver had a misdemeanor warrant out of Kootenai County. She was arrested on the warrant. 21-11950

• A Deputy made a traffic stop in the Cruisers parking lot. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. She failed SFSTs and provided breath samples of .170/.140/.148. White's passenger was found to be in possession of marijuana and prescription drugs. The driver was arrested for DUI and passenger was arrested for PCS marijuana, PCS prescription drugs and paraphernalia. 21-11955

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of the trailer park next to Nashville North. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFSTs and provided breath samples of .186/.175. He was arrested for 2nd offense DUI. 21-11956

• A Patrol Sergeant stopped a vehicle in the Showgirls Parking lot after a patron appeared to be flagging him down and the vehicle nearly striking his patrol car. He made contact with the driver who was highly intoxicated. She failed SFSTs and provided breath samples of .206/.204. She was arrested to excessive DUI. 21-11961

A large presence of law enforcement in the Stateline area seemed to help again preventing any fights at the bars. Steady diet of DUIs for us, PFPD and ISP.

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a citizen dispute in the area of W. Seltice Way X N. Pleasant View Rd. A female was arrested for her misdemeanor warrant from Washington.

• A Deputy responded to N. Massif Rd. for a found property report. Home owner stated he found a backpack that had 3 firearms wrapped in a Wal-Mart Bag. 1 of the guns had the serial numbers cut off and the other 2 had a legible serial numbers that were negative NCIC. They were booked for safe keeping.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Hayden Walmart regarding a trespassing/unwanted person. Upon their arrival they contacted a male who is on state probation. During the contact, the male took off running through the parking lot and onto Highway 95. Deputies gave chase and were able to catch up to male and place him into custody. He was arrested for obstructing. poss. of controlled substance and poss. of para. 21-12019

• Deputies responded to a disorderly. Upon their arrival a Deputy located one intoxicated 18 yo male. As the Deputy contacted the male he attempted to take off, however he was not fast enough to outrun the Deputy who was able to get the male onto the ground and detain him. During the investigation the male spit on FTO Geurin and was uncooperative. He was arrested for obstructing, Battery on an officer and cited for MIP alcohol. 21-12021

• Deputies responded to NIC beach X Rosenberry Dr., regarding a suspicious vehicle. While in route Central advised a white truck was driving down the beach trying to pull a boat out of the water. Upon their arrival the located the vehicle down along the river attempting to load their boat which had broken down.

Night Shift handled the following notable call:

• Deputies responded to W. Heron Ave for a runaway juvenile. The R/P stated her 17 year old juvenile has been using drugs and recently had Xbox and phone taken away. The R/P said she returned home to find items have been taken and her son has appeared to runaway. Deputies completed a crime report. 21-12039

• Deputies responded to N. Government Way for a physical domestic. On scene Deputies located a female and male. The female had obvious facial injuries and was bleeding heavily from her face. Deputies arrested the male for felony domestic (presence of a child) and attempted strangulation. The female was transported to KH for her injuries. 21-12060

• A Deputy responded to W. Prairie Ave for a 50 year old female who suffered fall outside. The Deputy assisted the female until medical could arrive. 21-12066

• Deputies responded to Hayden Walmart for a battery. A female reported a male was on scene ramming into her vehicle. The male arrived at her residence earlier in the evening and threatened her by showing her ammo and suggesting he had a firearm. The male had also threatened to burn down her vehicle. Prior to deputies’ arrival, the male left in his vehicle and abandoned it behind Walmart. Deputies set up a perimeter and a K-9 Deputy and his partner responded. They tracked for over 2 miles and were unable to locate the male. Deputies completed a crime report. 21-12054

• Deputies responded to PSB for multiple people in the PSB Lobby intoxicated. One of the females had barricaded herself in the bathroom at PSB. Ultimately, there was an altercation at a residence in Hayden in which the female was heavily intoxicated and became agitated and emotionally distressed. When her friends tried to calm her down, she became combative. Her friends thought it was a great idea and drove her to the “Police”. Once inside the jail lobby, and the female barricading herself in the bathroom, things calmed down and deputies were able clear everyone out. Deputies completed a crime report. 21-12053
