CDA: Group thanks levy voters

| March 21, 2021 1:00 AM

On behalf of Citizens for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, we’d like to extend gratitude to the voters in our community for their “Yes” vote on our school levy.

The renewal of essential levy funds guarantees a quality public education for our children in a safe learning environment, without raising taxes.

Our public school students will continue learning in an environment with art and music programs, career guidance and extracurricular activities.

Our students will also be able to seek mental health resources, have enhanced student safety on school grounds and receive care from a school nurse.

We all know a teacher that has reached into their own pocketbook to buy classroom supplies. With the passage of our levy, educators will have a budget for school supplies.

We are grateful to live in a community that recognizes a strong education system is critical to our local economy and workforce. We are disappointed in our local elected representatives who chose not to endorse the levy and groups attempting to organize against supporting our schools.

Despite this, more individuals voted YES for our schools than in past levy elections! Thank you for making your voice heard and illustrating to those opposed that they are out of touch with the needs of students and families.

Our public schools are a reflection of our vibrant community. We offer our heartfelt thanks to voters for their continued investment in public schools and our children’s future.
