SCHOOLS: Bonds yes, levies no

Wake Up Coeur d’Alene Press, it’s you who’ve changed, not us!
Not too many years ago, the editorial was critical of Coeur d’Alene School District recommending passage of a levy at $.80 per thousand but instructing the district to start living within the state budget.
The paper encouraged the current levy at over double, that is, after we all passed a bond to fund new and upgraded buildings.
Maybe citizens are getting upset with support staff more than teachers, charter schools outperforming yet operating on only state money, teaching students non-traditional values, levy elections in the spring when few citizens vote.
Bonds for buildings yes, levies to perpetuate wasteful spending, no!
