Celebrate creativity on March 23 during the Invent Idaho Invention Convention State Finals virtual awards ceremony.

From 5:30 to 7 p.m., award winners will be announced in first, second and third place category/grade levels, as well as best of category and best of show.

The celebration will also include the announcement of the 2021 Bio-Inspired Invention Award, the Inspirational Teacher of the Year, the list of inventions that qualify for the University of Idaho EXPO and the names of the inventors who qualify to advance to the National Invention Convention. The national awards ceremony, presented by Raytheon Technologies, will take place virtually June 24.

The Invent Idaho Invention Convention takes students on voyages of discovery as they apply science and critical thinking to craft inventions that address real-world problems. Every year, more than 1,000 young inventors in grades 1-12 throughout the state of Idaho participate in the Invent Idaho Invention Convention program, competing at three regional events around the state and culminating at the Invent Idaho State Finals, hosted by the University of Idaho.

This year, more than 120,000 K-12 inventors from across the United States competed at local affiliate events to showcase their creativity and inventiveness. Last year, 453 inventors advanced to the Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, and 63 students were honored with awards during the 2020 virtual awards ceremony. Several North Idaho students were among those celebrated for their good work.
