PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Haaland leads East past West

MULLAN — Lakeland High senior Noah Haaland earned MVP honors, scoring 14 points for the East in a 105-88 win over the West in the 34th annual District 1 All-Star Game at the Mullan Pavilion.

Nathan Weeks of Genesis Prep also scored 14 and Jalen Skalskiy scored 12 points for the East.

During halftime, Skalskiy won the slam dunk contest and Lakeside’s Jayson ‘JJ’ Hall won the 3-point contest.

Jack Kiesbuy of Lake City scored 18 points for the West, who capped the scoring on a jumper by Carson Wicks of St. Maries as time expired.

Last year's games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
