PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Jeffs powers East past West in District 1 All-Star Game

MULLAN — Timberlake senior Blayre Jeffs scored 13 points for the East in a 68-44 win over the West in the 34th District 1 All-Star girls basketball game at the Mullan Pavilion on Friday night.

Dylan Lovett of Post Falls scored nine points, and Jaelyn Brainard-Adams of Coeur d’Alene and Maya Blake of Post Falls scored eight each for the East, which outscored the West 16-6 in the second quarter to take a 29-23 halftime lead.

Sandpoint’s Hattie Larson was named the game’s MVP after scoring 16 points for the West.

At halftime, Lovett won the 3-point contest, hitting four shots in a tiebreaker with Tori Younker of Coeur d’Alene and Bella Phillips of Sandpoint, who made three and two, respectively.

The boys game will be played tonight at 6 in Mullan.

Last year’s games were canceled due to COVID-19.
