LAKELAND: A word of thanks

We would like to extend our appreciation to our community members for supporting the March 9 Instructional (Supplemental) Levy.

As most community members who read this column will know, we are fully in support of our schools. Our school system is absolutely phenomenal — don’t just take our word for it, come visit our schools. You will see students deep in critical thinking, absorbing Idaho Content Standards, and genuinely engaged.

We are amazed on a daily basis what the teachers inspire in our students. You will find that we provide intellectually challenging classes with caring teachers in a supportive, safe environment — our statistics prove it.

In Lakeland, we are proud of the fact that we have the highest graduation rate in the state among school districts with more than 166 graduates! Lakeland graduated 366 seniors in the middle of a global pandemic, which was a graduation rate of 96.7%. There is no better metric against which to measure student success than this.

We want the taxpayers to know that we value your support of our schools and will continue to provide an exemplary program for your students. We appreciate our community’s ongoing support.
