| March 11, 2021 1:00 AM

In memory of Steven Ray Baugh, age 68, who passed away on Jan. 14, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Steve was born in Inglewood, Calif., but moved to Prunedale when he was a child. He then moved to Santa Cruz and later resided in Idaho and part time in Commonwealth Dominica.

Steve graduated from Soquel High School in Santa Cruz and later became a respected general contractor.

In 1998, Steve visited the Island of the Commonwealth of Dominica. He met his would-be second wife, Jennifer, in a café. They married in 2002 and she bore him a son who shares his namesake, Steven Ray Baugh Jr.

Steve was well known and loved on the island, especially in the community of Pt. Michel. Because of his personality many of his friends gravitated toward him.

His favorite pastimes included diving, spear and net fishing and also visiting a few of the many bars in the village. Some of Steven Jr.’s fondest memories of his father were of the wonderful times they spent together out on the sea, fishing.

The family and many friends on the island of the Commonwealth of Dominica mourns a jovial, energetic, gentleman in the name of Steven Baugh. May his soul rest.

Steve also had a love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and hunting. He was a member of the Freemasons.

Steve is survived by his son, Steven Ray Baugh; stepdaughters Jolee Lange and Renata Toulon; brothers Robert Baugh and Russell Koontz; and nieces and nephews, Brian, Carrie, Malea and Thor.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Vel Ray Baugh and Elinore Lottie Koontz. Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
