COUNTY: Disappointed in leadership

| March 7, 2021 1:00 AM

It’s simply abhorrent to me that Mr. Bill Brooks can look at fellow community members and constituents trying to peacefully make their voices heard regarding a particular subject and only see a lot of people who are “afraid of new ideas” and “will attack any new idea out of ignorance or self-interest.”

Mr. Brooks even goes so far as to draw parallels between peaceful protesters attempting to make their voices heard and a tyrannical mob attempting to “stifle or prohibit” open and honest debate of ideas. It just couldn’t possibly be that many community members simply do not trust our county leadership and that this may look like some sort of power grab to eliminate the requisite vote of the people for the foreseeable future.

I cannot be the only member of our beloved community who thinks this sort of elitist and narcissistic mentality does not belong within the ranks of our county leadership. Perhaps as the article suggests; “Is it time for a change?”
