Police seek witnesses in fatal collision

POST FALLS — The Idaho State Police is requesting information from anyone who saw a fatal collision in the parking lot of Walmart on Saturday morning.

David L. Mallery, 73, Post Falls had exited the store at 3050 E. Mullan Ave. and was walking north through the parking lot about 8:25 a.m. when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jeremy S. Riggs, 49, of Post Falls, according to an ISP press release.

Riggs was southbound in the parking lot when he made a left turn in front of the store and hit Mallery, who died at the scene, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the ISP district office, 208-209-8730

"No charges have been filed yet pending the ongoing investigation," according to an email from ISP.
