U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup: Timbers advance to U16 title game

SALT LAKE CITY — Cooper Prohaska, a rising junior at Coeur d'Alene High, scored both goals as the Timbers North 05 boys soccer team defeated Utah United 2-1 in double overtime in the semifinals of the U16 division at the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup on Saturday.

The Timbers will play Albion SC of Las Vegas today at 7:15 a.m. PDT in the championship game. The winner advances to the USYS National Presidents Cup in Des Moines, Iowa, in July.

Bryce Allred and Isaac Fritts had one assist each for the Timbers, and keeper Miles Taylor, a rising junior at Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy, had nine saves in the 110-minute game.

Albion defeated Phoenix Premier FC 4-0 in the other semifinal.
