RENT: Pushed toward homeless

| June 18, 2021 1:00 AM

The one thing I hear most frequently from Californians moving here is, “Don’t worry, we won’t come and change this lovely town.”

California didn’t get that screwed up overnight. And suddenly the rents in this area have quadrupled in the last four years, making Idaho’s pathetic minimum wages impossible to cover even half of rent being charged.

Whether it’s local landlords or transplants with money asking such outlandish rent amounts, you should be ashamed of your greediness. Perhaps you should take some of that money to invest in land to RV spaces to all the people being pushed out of their homes by landlords jacking up rent 100%.

Guess what you have in Coeur d’Alene when you’ve pushed all the locals to homelessness? CALIFORNIA.

In 10 years when you’re all detesting Idaho’s government, we’ll all know who to thank for bringing the same BS to our table as what you all left there. By then nobody will desire or afford to live here except those with no conscience, receiving 70% of a families income for rents.

Get ready to see our beautiful area scattered with homeless camps, litter, human waste. We’ll look just like Spokane, California and Portland. Goodbye Idaho. Welcome to California.

You all ever heard the wise suggestion, just because you can, doesn’t mean that you should? How do some of you sleep at night? Hanging upside down I’d bother to guess.
