The Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization will host a virtual open house today from 5 to 7 p.m. for the public to review proposed changes in the Health Corridor Urban Renewal District development plan.

The five stakeholder entities — KMPO, Kootenai Health, ignite cda, Idaho Transportation Department, and the city of Coeur d’Alene — contracted with DOWL in July 2020 to conduct future transportation needs and provide recommendations to mitigate challenges.

Through the transportation planning and traffic analysis study, stakeholders aim to build upon the Health Corridor Master Plan completed by ignite cda in September 2019. Centering around two employers: Kootenai Health and Kootenai Clinic, the URD Master Plan intends to combat adverse effects of growth through guided development.

Staff will provide a presentation of the project twice, at 5 and 6 p.m., and use the remainder of the time to answer questions from the public. An online version of the presentation will be published in the days following the open house.

Individuals can view the URD Master Plan at www.ignitecda.org/districts/health-corridor/.
