'Boats, beer, brats' at the mall

More than 30 vendors are expected Saturday and Sunday for “The Great Outdoor Event” in the south parking lot of the Silver Lake Mall.

There will be “boats, beer, brats and entertainment” both days from 10 to 6.

Also on Saturday at the mall, there will be a community barbecue and an open house, “Celebrating Community Partnerships,” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will showcase the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, which will be joined by members from the Northern Lakes, Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County fire and rescue agencies.

KCSO Sheriff Bob Norris is scheduled to be there to talk with citizens about his vision for the future of public safety in Kootenai County, and discuss ways he and the agency can serve the public.

If it rains, the event could be moved indoors.

“Rain or shine, we market!” wrote Kim Brown, Silver Lake Mall community market manager.
