A man is dead after a shooting in Coeur d’Alene.

The male was identified as Gabriel R. Casper, 20, of Coeur d’Alene.

Police confirmed the shooting occurred around 5:15 p.m. Monday.

A resident in that area told The Press on Tuesday that he did not hear a gunshot the previous night, but noticed a commotion and saw several people gathered around a person lying in the street.

Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Spokane Valley. Detectives arrested Matthew J. Holmberg, 19, of Spokane Valley.

An investigation is ongoing.
