DALTON: The mayor’s minions

| June 2, 2021 1:00 AM

The Dalton Gardens Council meeting of May 24, widely promoted by Mayor Edwards through Press disinformation articles, resembled a Maoist struggle session, each supporter of Edwards’ agenda eager to participate in the Two Minutes Hate, well, three minutes actually.

Blinded by rage, with undying admiration for their Dear Leader, some possibly foaming at the mouth, minion upon minion staggered to the podium DEMANDING Council pass the All Hazard Mitigation Plan, among other issues.

Not listening, inattentive, oblivious to the fact that said plan had already been adopted, this mob of sycophants exhibited the most odious behavior, with baseless, potentially actionable accusations said to have originated from a gang of 30.

Vying for top honors, one individual had the audacity to proclaim council members “cowards” for following through and voting their conscience, in adhering to publicly made campaign promises, and daring to think for themselves. Such despicable vocal behavior appeared popular with the mayor’s followers.

Also attending were some prior council members, ousted through recall or those whom residents declined to support for another term, apparently a few months’ experience with them was deemed a few months too long, by voters.

Fortunately, a few courageous souls offered an alternative view of the situation; especially notable was the letter read from a candidate for City Clerk, describing the mayor’s “interview” process as one intended to dissuade her from ever working for Dalton Gardens.

To those courageous, honorable few with eyes to see and ears to hear, I salute you!
