SHOWCASE GOLF: Mulder leads after first day

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Mark Mulder, who won the 2019 Showcase Golf exhibition at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course, leads the field with a 6-under 65 after the first day of the 2021 event on Friday.

Mulder leads two-time champion Brenden Morrow, a former NHL player, who is a shot back with a 5-under 66.

Sidney Rice, the former Seattle Seahawk and Minnesota Viking, leads the net scoring with a 61, three strokes ahead of NFL Hall of Famer Marcus Allen.

Tracy Hanson, a Lakeland High Hall of Famer, is tied for 16th with former NHL player Sheldon Souray with a 79.

The final round is today beginning at 8 a.m.

While there is no parking at the golf course, complimentary shuttle buses are available at The Coeur d'Alene Resort or Lake City High. Shuttles will begin at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday and conclude an hour after the completion of the tournament.
