STRIFE: But what if?

| July 30, 2021 1:00 AM

With all the strife in the world today, I would like to compare what is going on to the human body, which is made up of billions of cells, trillions of bacteria, viruses and numerous systems, including the nervous, muscular, circulatory, digestive, reproductive, skeletal, immune and so on.

These cells, bacteria, viruses and systems don’t look alike, they all have different jobs to perform, yet they all work in unison to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole, the human body, which is quite an amazing structure.

When a person eats or drinks, all cells receive nutrition and fluid according to their needs. No one group of cells or systems receive more than they require or disease occurs. In good times or bad, all share equally in what is available.

What if the world functioned like the human body? What if we cooperated with one another regardless of skin color, country of origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, beliefs or religion? What if resources were equally shared? What if basic needs were met for all?

Imagine what would take place world wide if everyone had enough to eat, clean water to drink, a safe place to live, access to good education, and meaningful employment. Would we then need guns? Or war? Or would we truly be creating “Heaven on Earth?”
