COEUR d’ALENE — Local Christian author Paul Walterman is publishing his second book. A book signing will be held Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Sower Bible Bookstore located at 1234 W. Appleway Ave.

“I’ve always been a writer and an encourager,” Walterman said. “I write what I’ve always felt that people need to hear, and I try to challenge them as well.”

With his first book published in 2004, “Fresh Heart for a New Day” is the second volume in a series of Christian devotionals. Offering 365 days of reading, each entry is around 400 words long.

“Devotions for a lot of people are stuffy and boring,” Walterman said. “I’ve tried to use some humor and to bring insights from eight or nine different Bible translations.”

The book is also available online, through Amazon and Barnes & Noble booksellers.

Walterman has been involved in ministry for 56 years serving as a pastor, running seminars for parents, doing prayer ministry and extensive mission work. He lives in Coeur d’Alene with his wife Joan and they have two grown sons, Wes and David.
