STUDY: Fear drives criticism

| July 29, 2021 1:00 AM

I just read Burt Rutan’s letter stating that to fly the space shuttle effectively, only three computers were needed. Therefore, he writes, only three county commissioners are needed.

This is comparing apples to oranges. Mr. Rutan feels that having more than three commissioners “will only increase costs in both tax dollars and labor without improving quality.”

I cannot comment on the costs (the commissioners may be part time?) but with our population exploding, I think it is important to study other forms of county government and present to the voting public what they think is the best possible county organization. It can be voted for or against. What are some people afraid of?
