Dawn Cheek, 60

| July 24, 2021 1:00 AM

Dawn Ellen Cheek, also known as “Grandma Cheek”, passed away on July 12, 2021, at the age of 60 while surrounded by her family at the amazing Hospice House of North Idaho.

Dawn was born in Chula Vista, Calif., on March 19, 1961, to Dennis and Gloria Cheek. She moved to the Northwest in 1979 with her parents and siblings, Brian, Joy, Kelly and DJ. Dawn’s passion in life was being surrounded by her grandbabies and watching “Live with Kelly”; she won many vacations and prizes by being a loyal listener. Dawn loved entering any contest and had the best of luck at winning luxurious trips. Dawn will be remembered as the grandma who always said yes to watching her grandchildren and was the happiest when she was around them. She will be deeply missed by everyone that loved her and had the joy to be around her.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her six children, Nic (daughter-in-law Jennifer), Sara (son-in-law Mike), Kari (son-in-law Charlie), Zac (daughter-in-law Jane), Olivia and Dylan (daughter-in-law Kayla). Along with her 15 … yes 15 grandchildren Aliyah, Amara, Koby, Andrez, Mason, Madison, Mykinzie, Conan, Daisy, Jayla, Siler, Sabie, Skylin, Kinsley and Emersyn; and of course, many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Gloria Cheek and grandparents Lenny and Mildred Stewart.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, at Hayden Eagles, 1520 W. Wyoming Ave., in Hayden.

In lieu of flowers we would love donations to be made to Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
