EXCEL: Empower CDA teachers

Dear Patrons of Coeur d’Alene School District 271,

The EXCEL Foundation changes the lives of students and teachers by promoting opportunities that are not available through normal streams of school funding. As the recipient of many EXCEL grants over the years, I have benefited from and seen the impact of these grants on student learning.

My students developed mathematical skills through manipulatives that allowed them to explore math concepts, wrote letters of inquiry to locations along the Oregon Trail, developed a stronger understanding of our solar system through proportional measurement, and explored similarities and differences of our continent and the Australian continent through books and songs. All these opportunities and many more, were made possible through grants from EXCEL.

July 29, provides all of us the opportunity to support the foundation during their fundraiser. The evening includes a cruise to the Hagadone gardens in Casco Bay, appetizers and beverages, and a short presentation and paddle raise.

Please consider supporting this amazing organization that has benefitted our students for more than 30 years. It opens doors and empowers students and teachers to make powerful meaningful connections to our world.
