Lauren Rewers

Grand Canyon basketball

Rewers, a 6-foot-4 center from Lake City High who played last season at Michigan State, has signed to play as a graduate transfer at Grand Canyon of Phoenix. "Lauren gives us some much needed size on the roster at 6-4," Grand Canyon coach Molly Miller said. "She also has a great skill set with the ability to post up with her back to the basket or stretch the defense and hit the 3. Her mobility at the post also allows her to complement our style of play. She will be a tough match up for teams, and will have great success competing in the WAC." Rewers comes to Grand Canyon after playing three seasons at Hawaii and one season at Michigan State. Last season at Michigan State, Rewers played in five games and posted season highs of four points and four rebounds against Northern Illinois. During her junior season at Hawaii, she played in 28 games, starting 19 of them, and averaged 6.6 points. She led the team with 19 blocked shots on the season to rank ninth in the Big West.
