Scott Wemple Memorial Golf Tournament benefits CASA

HAYDEN — The 10th Annual Scott Wemple Golf Tournament is scheduled Aug. 13 at the Avondale Golf Club in Hayden. A shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. with a banquet dinner to follow in the clubhouse.

"Ten years ago, friends gathered to play in Scott’s honor”, said Donna Wemple. “Scott and I lived on the 12th green and shared many memories on this course. My kids and I wanted to keep Scott’s memory alive and this tournament is a celebration of what he loved. The money raised that day helped me when I needed it most and being able to hand over this tournament to CASA, an organization that is close to my heart, makes me feel good.”

Funds raised will also go toward the Scott Wemple Memorial Scholarship Fund at North Idaho College for students playing golf at the collegiate level.

CASA served over 400 child abuse victims this past year. Community members are invited to join in the fight for child victims of abuse and neglect, along with CASA’s 130 volunteers.
