Catherine Graf, 80

Catherine Leeann Graf was born July 26, 1940 in Spokane, Wash. to Sidney and Marion Smith. She passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Guy Graf, her father and mother Sidney and Marion Smith, as well as her brother Stacy Smith.

Graduating from West Valley High School in 1958, Catherine was soon to marry her husband, James Dunwoody, August 27, 1958 her children’s father. Later on she remarried to Guy Graf on July 4, 1987. Catherine was very passionate about her involvement in her community as well as her family, including Tree of Sharing, Bloomers and Bud’s garden club, and numerous other charities. She was an extremely hard worker. Not only was she a hard worker in her personal life, but she had a successful career for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood, Wash. Those that were fortunate enough to know her knew she was many things; generous, thoughtful, loving and kind. Catherine also loved puzzles, gardening, quilting, painting, sewing, boating, travel and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by David Dunwoody and spouse Lisa of Spokane Valley, Wash.; One daughter Diane Blackhurst and spouse Douglas of Canyon City, Colo.; She is also survived by children from her current marriage, Melissa Barnhart, Gala Colombina and Melinda Jeffreys. One brother Marvin Smith of Millwood, Wash.; Ten grandchildren and 14 Great grandchildren. The family suggests Memorial donations be made to the Spirit Lake Food Bank, 32154 Fourth Ave., Spirit Lake, ID 83869. A Memorial Service and reception is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N.
