Garza, a infielder/right-handed pitcher, hit a go-ahead double in the sixth inning, then struck out two of three batters faced in the seventh to lead the Lums over Lewis-Clark in the second game of a best-of-5 game Class AA Area A (district) tournament game at Thorco Field on July 15. Garza closed out the series on the mound on Saturday. “Nobody was better than he was on the mound last week,” Coeur d’Alene coach Darren Taylor said. “He came up big in a bunch of big situations last week and came through. He was spectacular when he needed to be.”
