BROOKS: Party aversion unsavory

| July 16, 2021 1:00 AM

So Bill Brooks has suddenly developed an “aversion” to the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee. Where was this aversion last November when his Republican affiliation helped him win re-election in a heavily conservative and Republican county?

It looks like Bill Brooks wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to be viewed as a “conservative, Christian, and lifelong Republican” without having to be affiliated with the Republican Party.

It is a good thing that Bill Brooks does not plan to run for re-election when his present term is finished. I doubt if many Republicans would vote for him again after feeling betrayed, as Brent Regan rightly points out. What good is electing a Republican candidate if he will not follow party recommendations or philosophies? The last thing Kootenai County needs is another RINO politician, especially one with questionable ethics.
