N. IDAHO: Kindness alive, well

| July 11, 2021 1:00 AM

I went to Labcorp on Ironwood for some routine tests. I thought they opened at 8 a.m., but they actually had opened at 7. I checked in and sat in a mostly full waiting room.

An older woman, panting hard on her O2, and her male companion entered and tried to sign in. When she sat down, she asked the lady next to her how long she’d been waiting. The second lady told her she had been there about an hour.

The first woman fussed aloud about the prospect of waiting another hour. She was about to leave when woman No. 1 offered to swap places in line. The older woman declined at first, but eventually agreed. Very shortly, she went behind the doors and had her fluids drawn. She came out all smiles and thanked the other woman several times.

Some days it feels really good to live among the helpful people of North Idaho! I just wanted to share this story showing how selflessness is alive and well in our fair city. This is a special and physically beautiful place and the people match. May this tale provide some inspiration for you!
