Michael (“Mike”) Garrett, 74, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, peacefully passed into eternity on June 9, 2021 in beautiful Coeur d’Alene.

Mike was laid to rest in Seattle, Wash., at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park on June 22, 2021.

Mike was born Jan. 10, 1947, to Arthur and Jean Garrett in Seattle, Wash. He was the eldest of three boys in his family and big brother to Dan Garrett and Tim Garrett. Growing up in Ballard, Wash., he attended Ballard High School and graduated in 1965.

Very shortly after high school, Mike enlisted in the military and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years, retiring out of the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant in 1989. After the Corps, Mike worked in various project managing positions in the wireless telecommunications industry in and around the Seattle area for 20+ years.

For pleasure, Mike loved spending time with his Yorkshire Terrier, Beamer, and was a notable artist. He enjoyed wood carving, painting and drawing, as well as keeping up with the happenings of his friends and family on Facebook.

Mike is survived most immediately by his only daughter and son in law, Jeannie and Anthon Greenland of Post Falls; his grandchildren, Finn and Nora Greenland; his truest and most loyal friend and former wife, Char Garrett of Post Falls; his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Debbie Garrett of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Jean and Arthur Garrett and his brother Dan Garrett.

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
