COEUR d’ALENE — A sex offender and parolee is facing a felony charge after police said he failed to update his registration.

Tracy J. McIntyre, 41, of Coeur d’Alene, is charged with failure to notify of an address change, a felony.

McIntyre was reportedly convicted of attempted lewdness with a child under the age of 14 in Nevada in 2002.

In Idaho, persons convicted of certain felony sex crimes are required to register with their local sheriff’s office.

They must also notify the office of any address change within two business days of the change.

Police said McIntyre failed to update his address information when he switched rooms at the Coeur d’Alene motel where he’d been living, as well as when he moved to a different motel.

Deputies with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office arrested McIntyre on Monday.

Prosecutors said McIntyre is a repeat offender.

He pleaded guilty in 2016 to failure to register a change of address in Bonner County, according to court documents.

Judge Barbara Buchanan sentenced McIntyre to one year in prison, with an additional seven years indeterminate.

He was later released on parole.

District Judge Patrick McFadden ordered that McIntyre be held on $10,000 bail.
