Fire preparedness meeting tonight

| July 8, 2021 1:00 AM

HAYDEN — The best way for families to protect themselves and their property from fires is to have a plan before an emergency happens.

That’s why Kootenai County residents are invited to a community fire preparedness meeting tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management in Hayden, 1662 W. Wyoming Ave.

State and local officials will update the public on current fire conditions, explain the biggest concerns facing responders and share resources for more information.

Attendees will get tips on how to prepare their families for emergencies, as well as how to help first responders and law enforcement if a fire breaks out in their neighborhood.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will host the meeting, partnered with local fire chiefs, the Idaho Department of Lands and the Office of Emergency Management.
