Op-Ed: A real black eye to beautiful North Idaho

A neighbor recently sent me photos from the trash drop-off site at Highway 97 and I-90; a popular site (obviously) for trash. It truly brought tears to my eyes to see the beautiful plush green trees with the blue sky in the background, then the ugliness of all that man-made trash.

Thank you for printing the recent article regarding the legal ways to dump items that belong in the landfill, but I wonder if what we are seeing here is another negative part of the excessive growth in the region or that the dumpsters are full of large construction items. I don't intend to check.

I hope it's helpful to print one of these photos so people will be more diligent in dumping correctly. The other option is to report people who are dumping illegally.

Surely we can get this under control. Hopefully.
