New Findlay Jeep building coming in Post Falls

Findlay Jeep will be a new automotive sales building at 1800 E. Polston Ave. in Post Falls. Formerly a Nissan car place, the completely renovated building will open in the fall with a grand opening next spring.

It will become the Northwest's only standalone Jeep store while Findlay CJDR will continue selling Chryslers, Dodges, Rams (and Jeeps until the next place opens) next door at 550 N. Alberta St.

A family-owned dealer group, Findlay CJDR started in 1961 and has 32 stores in six states with the Post Falls place opening in 2007. Charlie Walters is general manager. Phone 208-619-2510. Check www.jeep.com/history.html.

Birdie's Pie Shop

opens in Hayden

With eight employees baking about 250 pies a day, Birdie's Pie Shop has opened at 9375 Government Way in Hayden.

Owner Sharee Moss also has a store at 1003 N. Spokane St. in Post Falls. Both stores are open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Tubbs Hill cleanup

set for July 5

Volunteers are encouraged to help with the annual Tubbs Hill cleanup 9 a.m. to noon Monday (July 5).

The "after July 4" cleanup is organized by the Tubbs Hill Foundation with help from the Coeur d'Alene Parks Dept. and Coeur d'Love.

Meet at the Third Street entry where trash bags, water and lemonade will be provided. Bring your own gloves. Coeur d'Love will also be trash picking in other public areas.

  • Truck manufacturing company Kenworth plans a large building for 4374 W. Expo Parkway west of Post Falls.
  • A large storage complex and new corporate office for Steel Structures of America will be built off Highway 41.
  • The Den will be a new tavern at 761 N. Idaho St. in Post Falls.

  • The CdA Corner Store is adding a kitchen and tables downtown.

  • 108 North is under construction connected to the Moose Lounge downtown.
  • A new motel is under construction on CdA Lake Drive between Mullan Ave. and Michael D's Eatery.
