VACCINES: Fill in the gaps
Saturday’s AP article, “With Limited Vaccine, Idaho Faces Priority Group Confusion,” has some omissions which might cause further confusion.
The article states, “Currently, front-line health care workers, nursing home staffers, dentists, pharmacists and other medical-field staffers are eligible to be vaccinated, as can child care workers, teachers and staffers at primary and secondary schools and correctional center staffers.”
From the coronavirus.idaho.gov website, long-term care facility residents, not just staffers, are currently eligible for vaccination.
The article also does not specifically mention home care providers for older adults and people with high-risk medical conditions, and public health and emergency management response workers who are unable to telework. These groups are eligible, according the state website. Perhaps these are the other medical-field staffers the article refers to.
