TRUMP: Time for the truth

| January 27, 2021 1:00 AM

Something repeated is believed, even if the truth is not in it. Truth should be based on actions, not words.

I keep hearing how the economy thrived under Trump. A president can advocate for bailing out failing companies or banks, and legislatures can vote to comply. A president can advocate for work program jobs, which was done in the 1930s. Corporations, bankers, investors and people with money control the market.

The average American worker, the poor and disabled did not make money. The average American doesn’t have money in the stock market. Many Americans need to work two, sometimes three jobs just to pay for basic living expenses.

Minimum wage, part-time jobs are plentiful, but a person can’t afford rent, food, utilities or care for their kids. Those part-time jobs do not provide health care.

Drilling for oil, opening ANWR and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement provided potential jobs; it also puts our environment and fragile ecosystems at risk. Clean air and drinkable water should be a higher priority.

I heard that the election was fraudulent, even though election offices and courts in every state were unable to verify that claim. Many Republicans won their seats in this election. Are those votes fraudulent?

Evidence in the first impeachment showed wrongdoing by our president withholding money already allocated by Congress, in exchange for an investigation into an American. The argument given to acquit was that the voters should choose whether or not to keep Trump.

The voters chose.
