ABORTION: Gateway to oppression
Pro-abortion voices hold that pre-born human beings, even those who survive the gauntlet of attempted abortion, have no constitutional rights to life. Tragically, they ignore that history has shown that the removal of another’s humanity allows oppression to flourish.
The science of embryology supports life beginning at conception; that preborn children are human beings. If that is true, then abortion is the active killing of human beings in the womb. Do not preborn human beings count as “one of us?”
Author Sarah Bowen offers this challenge: “2020 has taught us that we will go to great lengths to protect even one life. How much more should we act when that life is small and unable to defend itself? It is time for the abortion issue to cease being a political question and instead become a question of human rights and of radical equality for all.”
I believe it is a preeminent priority to not stay silent with more than 2,300 babies killed daily by abortion. Our voices will only be truly heard when we winsomely but firmly present this truth — human life begins at the moment of fertilization; preborn human beings up to 40 weeks gestation are brutally killed through abortion.
Education and service are powerful works that bring about cultural breakthroughs. Providing compassionate, comprehensive, evidence-based health care and support to those facing unplanned pregnancies or adverse prenatal diagnosis is vital. Abortion is never medically necessary; abortion is not health care.
