One man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Kootenai Fire and Rescue, and the KCSO Traffic Unit responded at 8:07 p.m. to the area of west Seltice Way and Wellesley Avenue for a reported two-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived on scene they located both vehicles in the middle of the two eastbound lanes. One driver was transported with potential injuries. The other driver, identified as Danny Yeoman of Spokane Valley, was pronounced dead on scene despite life-saving measures being taken.

The roadway was closed for several hours while the KCSO Traffic Unit investigated the collision. The initial investigation showed Yeoman crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, striking the other vehicle head-on.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor of the accident as results from blood samples are still pending. Also it is believed speed was not considered a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
