Lee Sorbel

| January 23, 2021 1:00 AM

Lee Sorbel, daughter to the late Arthur Friedman and Dorothy Helen Pike Friedman, was born in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 22, 1942. She graduated from Balboa High School in San Francisco in 1960.

Lee married Delane Sorbel in Feb. of 1984. He preceded her in death in 2017. She once stated that she moved at least 17 times over the years and finally found her forever home in Hayden, Idaho, after marrying Delane. There they enjoyed their beautiful home and yard for almost 33 years, with its abundance of birds, squirrels, raccoons, deer and even an occasional bear or moose. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and working in the garden growing flowers and vegetables, some of which were started in the greenhouse that Delane designed and built for her.

Lee worked at Reflections in the Coeur d’Alene Resort for several years and was a member of the Red Hats in Coeur d’Alene. She deeply loved animals and always had a cat or a dog in her life.

Lee is survived by stepdaughters, Delraya Anstine (Richard) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, and Tammy Baker (Larry) of Puyallup, Wash.; grandchildren, Christie Landano (Michael) of Sandpoint, Idaho, Jeff Anstine (Kristy) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Angela Madden (Jeremy) of Portland and Chris Baker (Brittany Amende) of Bellingham, Wash.; along with numerous great-grandchildren plus close friends, Joy Richards, Sheila Richards, Karen Robinette (Tim Warnecke) and Gail English (James) all of Hayden, and Mary Lawrence of Calif.

Thank you to Dr. Susan Daughtery-Fowler and staff, the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and Advanced Home Care and Hospice of Coeur d’Alene, for your love, support and caring in Lee’s twilight years.
