James Joseph Hayden

James Joseph Hayden was born March 17, 1938, to Charles and Kathryn (Vranna) Hayden, in Billings, Mont. He grew up in Billings through his high school years.

James was united in marriage to Gudrun (Persin) Hayden on Oct. 5, 1964, in Ramstein, Germany. Their union was blessed with two sons, Jeff and Mark, and 43 years of marriage together.

James enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving a career term from 1955 to 1981. The active service brought him to various places, including the parts of the United States, Korea, Germany, Iceland and Turkey.

Upon retirement, the couple made their home in Hayden, North Idaho. Gudrun died Feb. 17, 2008. James continued to live near his family. On Jan. 11, 2021, James Hayden died peacefully at the Schneidmiller Hospice House at the age of 82 years.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, travel, music and time spent with his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Jeff (and Lisa) Hayden of Hayden, Idaho, and Mark (and Holly) Hayden of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; two grandchildren, Joel and Catherine; a sister, Alice Klundt of Billings; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gudrun; parents, Charles and Kathryn; and a sister, Joyce Carr.

Blessed be the memory of James Joseph Hayden.

James was privately interred with his beloved wife at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
