COVID TEAM: Angels in disguise

| January 22, 2021 1:00 AM

On Dec. 18, I was at home alone. My wife, Genita, had gone to help a friend in Blanchard. I tried to stand three times but was unable to get up. My arms, legs and fingers would not work. Genita called to see if I had picked up my medicine and I told her I thought I had a stroke. She told me to call 911, which I did. They were at the house before she got home. They took me to Kootenai Health. The paramedics/firemen who took me to the ER were real professionals.

It took a really long time for me to be admitted to the ER and tested for COVID-19 because it was so busy. Late on Dec. 19, they determined I had COVID-19. As a result, they moved me to room 3009, which is a COVID room.

The nurses, technicians, CNAs and all the other personnel who work on the COVID floor deserve a huge THANK YOU for all they do to minister to the people who have COVID-19. I think they must be “angels” in disguise. They tirelessly minister to their patients in spite of being confronted with COVID-19 every day.
