Notable calls for the day!

01-15-2021

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies and Command staff responded to Ramsey X Dakota for a 2 vehicle injury collision. A work truck was travelling SB on Ramsey when another vehicle failed to yield at the stop sign on Dakota, causing a T bone collision. One of the occupants was transported to KH for possible injuries.

• Deputies responded to E. Teton Rd. in Athol for a report of a domestic. A male and female had been verbal for several days according to the RP. The female’s father responded to the residence to help. Deputies were able to clear after the family calmed down

• Deputies responded to N. Dolan for a fight. While in route, they were advised citizens had a male detained who was caught going through mailboxes. Upon arrival, the male was taken into custody. The male had one warrant for his arrest. Prior to being taken to the jail, he cleared by medical due to a cut and swelling on his head from the fight. Report completed

• A Deputy responded to the area of Sunnyside X Annapolis Ct. for a stranded motorist. Last night, a truck driver was coming down and got stuck behind a recently fallen tree. LE contacted both the HWY district and Avista and cleared. The HWY district later responded but did not clear the tree believing the electrical lines were charged and a hazard. The vehicle driver called in today advising they had been out there all night and were running out of fuel. Both the HWY district and Avista were called back after being told it was a priority. Avista determined it was a phone line and not power. They assisted in clearing the roadway so the driver could leave.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Multiple Deputies responded to O'reilly's Auto Parts in Hayden reference a report of a Fight possibly involving a gun. After the incident was contained, units learned the issue stemmed from a road rage type incident and no one was assaulted with a firearm. An incident report was completed. 21-02476.

• Deputies responded to N. Monarch Ave. reference a reported Domestic Dispute between a male and female. On scene it was determined the argument began because female thought the male was going to be gone to work this weekend, when in fact he didn't need to go to work until later in the weekend. This apparently upset the female who was also extremely intoxicated. The male left for the evening to diffuse the situation. 21-02503

• Deputies responded to N. Havichur Lp. reference a Drugs call. A Juvenile was smoking marijuana hash in his bedroom-an ongoing issue since September 2020 despite his current Diversion program. He was arrested for drug charges. 21-02519

• A Deputy responded to Super 1 Foods-Athol for 3 cold Theft Reports. According to loss prevention agents there, the suspect in their case is suspected of stealing items from other Super 1 locations throughout the county since November 2020.

• A Patrol Sergeant stopped a vehicle on Hwy 53 eastbound near Church Rd. A Deputy responded as cover and conducted a DUI investigation. The male driver was arrested for DUI. 21-02537

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Patrol Sergeant while on routine patrol, observed a vehicle stopped at the stop light on Huetter Rd. at Seltice Way. The male half was outside of the vehicle waving his arms and seemed to be agitated. When the Sergeant attempted to make contact, the male walked away. The Sergeant made contact with the female, while other Deputies searched for male. The investigation revealed the male got drunk at a bar in Rathdrum and was betting drinks on pool games. When the male could not make good on his bets, he got into an altercation with a male. They left the bar and the male and female got into an argument at the above mentioned intersection. She said she was going to call the police and he took the phone from her. The male was later located and interviewed. A report was taken. 21-02545

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle in the Big Smoke parking lot off Appleway. He made contact with the driver who displayed symptoms of intoxication. There was also fresh damage to her vehicle. It was determined she may have crashed in an apartment complex in the city. CDAPD was notified. The female driver failed SFST's and when providing a breath sample she would not follow directions and provide the sample as instructed. She was arrested for DUI. 21-02555

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Seltice Way and Idaho St. He contacted the driver who displayed the symptoms of intoxication. She failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .185/.179. She was arrested for DUI. 21-02557

• Deputies responded to N. Bardill St. in Bayview for a welfare check. The reporting party advised a female was in the woods below her house screaming she was cold. When Deputies arrived, they located footprints in the snow leading from the woods to a neighborhood. Deputies searched the area and lost her tracks and were unable to locate her. 21-02560

• Deputies responded to the area of 16008 N. Church Rd. for a reported malicious injury. The reporting party called in to advise there was a green truck ramming items at his neighbor's residence who was not home. The reporting party was able to get a plate on the suspect vehicle. As Deputies arrived in the area, they located the suspect vehicle on Church Rd. at Smith Ave. A Deputy initiated a traffic stop, however, the suspect vehicle failed to yield for approximately a quarter mile. Once the driver stopped, he was ordered out of the vehicle, which he complied. When they put hands on, the male tensed up and fought being placed in handcuffs. The investigation revealed the male was lost and ended up on someone's property, sideswiped a propane tank and ran over a garbage can. The male driver displayed the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .173/.143/.154. 21-02563

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A vehicle was reported as stolen form E. Honeysuckle Ave. in Hayden by the owner. The owner believed it was his roommate who took the vehicle, even though both were on scene. A Deputy remembered seeing a similar vehicle parked on Icehouse, behind Walmart. The vehicle was located there with 3 slashed tires and a broken window. The roommate was less than cooperative during contact. The roommate denied any involvement, though it is believed he was responsible. Report taken.

The shift responded to several alarm calls throughout the county due to power being restored.

The shift continued to respond to welfare checks due to family and friends not being able to reach loved ones without power.

• Deputies assisted CDAPD with returning some property that was found in the city to a resident on Hwy 3 near Harrison.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to the CDA Casino for a reported Overdose in the bathroom. A Deputy arrived on scene and administered one Narcan. The victim was a tribal member so CDA Tribal PD handled. 21-02655

• Deputies responded to Emerald Dr. reference an Alarm call with 2 trips of an interior motion. On scene Deputies found the location was unsecure. They secured it, and the homeowner was advised. 21-02666

• Deputies responded to Painter's Loop for an anonymous Drugs report. The RP advised Central Dispatch they believed the neighbor to be cooking meth in their apartment. Deputies were able to return to the location later, and were granted entry by occupant. There was not any evidence to corroborate the RP's story. Units cleared 8. 21-02670

• Deputies responded to S. Juniper Ct. for a reported Suicide Threat. A female texted her niece and stated she was going to overdose on pills. On scene Deputies spoke to the female and confirmed she was code 4. A FI will be completed. 21-02681

• Deputies responded to W Ferrell Rd in Huetter for a fight among three people. Upon arrival, units discovered that all were intoxicated and arguing about staying at the property and collecting belongings. Some punches had been exchanged but no one wished pursuit of battery charges. One of the parties left the residence to later collect his belongings another day when sober. 21-02689.

• A Deputy responded along with ISP to Hwy 95 near mm 423 for a Welfare Check on a possible DUI driver. It took quite a few minutes to locate the male due to him being intoxicated. Units used lights and sirens to help the male start walking towards them and the road. Once located the male had been involved in a rollover crash and Fire/EMS were requested to the scene. ISP took primary due to the crash originating from Hwy 95. #21-02703

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Hayden and Baack. Subsequently two occupants were contacted and both were issued citations for mara/para. 21-02692

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to E. Painters Loop for reported drug activity. However, upon arrival, contact was made with two occupants. There was no evidence of drug usage, however they did have an active no contact order out of Washington. After interviewing them, they both advised they spoke to the prosecutor’s office in Airway Heights and requested the order be dismissed and were under the impression it was. They agreed to separate and a complaint request was completed for violation of a no contact order. 21-02709

• Deputies responded to Cruisers bar for a reported attempted kidnapping. The investigation revealed it was a misunderstanding by one of the females and no one was trying to be forced into a vehicle. No crime was observed. An FI was completed. 21-02714

• A Deputy took a cold residential burglary report from N. Highway 41. An unknown suspect entered the residence, which had been locked, without causing any damage and went through the victim's bedroom drawers and let her dogs out. The only item she could recall being stolen was a bottle of Crown Royal. 21-02725

• Deputies responded to Stateline Showgirls for a fight. Two males got into a physical fight inside the establishment due to one of the male’s being intoxicated and nearly falling on the other male’s girlfriend. Neither party wished to pursue charges. 21-02726

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Ramsey Rd. and Leisure Dr. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. She failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .153/136. She was arrested for DUI. 21-02729

• Deputies responded to the area of Lakeview Dr. and Rimrock Rd. for a slide off. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver who was outside of the vehicle. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .192/.187. He was charged for DUI. 21-02736

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy stopped a blue Ford Explorer with no plates on I-90. The Deputy contacted the driver and completed a DUI investigation. The driver was arrested for DUI drugs and the passenger was cited and released for paraphernalia. 21-02756

• A Deputy dealt with two different landlord tenant issues one at N Caravelle Rd and the other was E. Arthur Rd. Both calls were cleared civil, but the Deputy provided the Landlord/Tenant pamphlet to all parties. 21-02760/21-02758

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls: • Deputies responded to Weir and Brunner for a vehicle vs moose. On scene it was learned that another vehicle struck the vehicle that hit the moose, and minor injuries were reported. The moose was deceased, and a passenger was transported for a neck injury. 21-02795

• A Deputy handled a theft at Big Red's Barn. The R/P stated she was doing the cleanup at the end of the day and noticed a ferret was missing from its enclosure. She looked through security footage and found a white male wearing a blue face mask pick up the ferret and place it in the front pouch of his sweatshirt. The male then left the building. A report was taken. 21-02795

• A Deputy responded to Higgens Point for a suspicious call. It was reported that someone was pulling on her car's door handles in the parking lot. The Deputy responded and located two occupants in a car. They claimed to know nothing about the report nor seeing anything. However their presence in the parking lot seemed odd as they had no real reason to be there. The reporting party stated the suspect never gained entry, nor did they attempt to gain entry in any other vehicles. An FI was completed. 21-02789

• A Deputy responded to Jellum Road for an accident. A driver lost control of her vehicle while traveling on Upriver and Jacobs Lane, causing her to strike a tree well off the road. She was able to get out of the vehicle with only minor injuries. A report was taken. 21-02792

• Deputies responded to the Athol Motel for an out of control 12 year old. On scene they determined the boy was only acting out and the mother was having issues parenting him. Both were talked to about different tactics they could use to better get along. 21-02791

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to Brunner Rd X Warren Rd for a non-injury property damage crash. 21-02802

• Early in the morning, an R/P reported a suspicious person in Stoddard Park near Chompers Café. It was reported the person was singing and dancing in the park. Deputies responded to the area but were unable to locate the dancing person.

Deputies were proactive during their shift making traffic stops, security checks and extra patrols. Nothing note-worthy.
