| January 17, 2021 1:00 AM

Glen R. Meredith, 82, passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2020, at his home in Worley, Idaho. He was born on Sept. 21, 1938, near Plummer, Idaho, to Edward Meredith and Elaine (Toetly) Meredith. He was the oldest of four children. While at Plummer he attended the first grades of schooling. He moved to Worley and attended the remaining years of schooling and graduated from high school in 1956.

After school he helped his folks at their business, Meredith's Repair. He loved working on anything with a motor and became one great mechanic for the community.

After graduation he enlisted in the Army. He went to Fort Ord, Calif., for basic training, and then Fort Belvoir, Va., to attend schooling to become a heavy equipment mechanic. He then went on to Thule, Greenland and was last stationed in Michigan, where he was released with an honorable discharge.

He met and married Betty (Kalalea) Hansen. Joining the marriage were Gary, Alice and Lynn. They moved to Worley, joining his folks and working as a mechanic in their business, Meredith's Repair. While married they had Robbie and Lorri. They later divorced.

He then married Eunice (Flodin) Hanson. Joining their marriage were Don, Jim, Ken, Brian and Sue. They were married for 46 years. They made their home on a range, south of Worley, for 40-some years, where they raised Hereford cattle and worked long, hard hours.

Glen’s interests included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, antique cars and demolition derbies (earning multiple trophies in Rockford, Fairfield and Tekoa). He had a great passion for speeding with his Pontiac GTO. He was a member of Worley Masonic Lodge for many years. He escaped death twice: while repairing a split-rim truck tire and a faulty tire.

Before his parents passed away he continued the family business, Meredith’s Repair, along with his wife, Eunice.

Glen was preceded in death by his folks; both sets of grandparents; sisters, Janet Miller and Pat Vens; nephew, Glen (Pud) Gilbert; and stepson, Gary.

He is survived by his wife Eunice; stepkids Don, Jim, Ken, Brian (wife, Kim) and Sue (Jerry Madsen); sister, Charlene Waddell; son, Robbie (Debbie) Meredith; daughter, Lorri (Tom) Gum; uncle, Lawrence Toetly; stepkids, Alice (Kenny) Pluff and Lynn (Marty) Hays; brother-in-laws Dennis Miller, Micky Vens and Bill Waddell; along with many grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, Eunice’s family and many special friends.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date in honor of Glen.

Memorials may be made to the Worley Historical Society, 28825 S. Cave Bay Road, Worley, ID 83876, or to a charity of your choice.
