VACCINES: Tap this resource

Why doesn’t Idaho plug into Idaho’s Incident Command System (ICS) for vaccine distribution? This system was developed after 9/11 and it is a system that involves all state responders that can deal with whatever emergency or organizational need for the welfare of the citizens of Idaho. These responders have undergone extensive training and this system is already in place.

ICS would probably have one person in charge and then his or her representatives would have gone county by county to ready places to receive the vaccine, places to distribute the vaccine and probably rounded up all the people such as veterinarians, dental assistants, etc., who could administer the vaccine as well as available retired nurses and doctors.

ICS involves many experts in many fields as needed. As it is, Idaho seems to be lagging way behind in number of vaccines put into arms compared to other states.
