PRESS: Perpetrating falsehoods

| January 10, 2021 1:00 AM

I would like to express my concern about the huge front-page article on Thursday’s paper. To give such coverage to a group of people who believe that Joe Biden was not elected president in a free and fair election is very upsetting.

This is a case of it being all evidence to the contrary. No courts have upheld the lawsuits (due to lack of evidence) and no states have found any substantial fraud of any kind. Just because someone says something doesn’t make it true. You have to prove it. You have to have evidence. There is none.

Because the person you wanted to win the election did not, does not make it fraudulent. It makes it the United States and if you want your candidate to win, then you must support someone the majority of the country also wants. That was not the case this time.

It is true that President Trump received more votes than he did in 2016, but President-Elect Biden received even more. That is a fact.

Your paper should not be continuing to perpetrate these lies about the election. The truth, as Mitt Romney said in his remarks yesterday, must win out. I have been a subscriber to The Press for as long as we have lived here in Coeur d’Alene and I am a native Idahoan. Please do better in the future. We count on you for the truth.
