DUI: Only in Idaho

Today’s Press article “Man charged with 8th DUI” got me to thinking. What must an alcoholic do in Idaho to finally go to prison?

Must alcoholic kill another person with a vehicle? Must alcoholic severely injure another person while drunk? What on earth is going on when an alcoholic goes into a courtroom, stands before a judge, and then manages to have his attorney get him off with “another slap on the wrist?”

My prayer is that judges finally wake up and put these repeat offenders in prison. When in prison society is safe from chronic alcoholics killing or injuring one of our loved ones.
